The Egyptians and Romans practiced the art of lampworking centuries ago during a time when the warm glow of oil lamps provided warmth as well as light to an often dangerous and always mysterious world of fable and fantasy.
Later in Venice, bead making became a valuable and mysterious art passed from father to son – so treasured, in fact, that glass artists risked death if the secrets of their creation were revealed! This created a limited number of skilled artists, and increased the worth of the beads so that they continued to be sought after, as treasures of mystery and significance.
Although the mystery of lampworking is now revealed, Lezlie will tell you that the process of making Dream Glass remains a silent, artistic journey that begins each time she melts a solid mass and begins to manipulate, sculpt, layer, stretch and cool the liquid into a new bead.
"It is a meditative state in which I create these glass worlds that draw you in and make you look at what is inside."
Dream Glass by Lezlie is available to any interested retailers and wholesalers, including original creation of specific jewelry lines and home accessories.
